What is valet ticket advertising?

The majority, if not all, hotels offer valet parking solutions. Further, the increasing rise of urbanization across the world is driving demand for parking spaces. Some of these parking spots provide valet services. Notably, valet parking makes up about 20% of the US Parking Lots & Garages industry. Despite the threat posed by ride-sharing apps, which could diminish demand for parking spaces, the valet industry is still going strong.

Further, most of the rich people have a good education and a great understanding of what they want. Leveraging the tickets that are given out at valet parking premises as an advertising medium enables businesses to reach potential customers from the elite niche.

How does it work?

Advertisers print the message on a valet ticket. The messages are specially designed to appeal to a specific demographic. With the ticket in the hands of the car owner, the business is assured of one impression. Usually, valets put other tickets inside the car near the driver’s seat. Printing an ad on the ticket is another opportunity to gain impressions. As such, one is almost guaranteed of higher traffic to their business.
Advertising via the tickets is cheap yet so simple. Compared to other ad platforms like the TV, the tickets are cheap to create and to distribute. On average, advertisers paid up to $104,700 for a 30-second commercial as of November 2019. With a similar amount of capital, one can print and distribute over 10,000 valet tickets. Besides simplicity and cost-effectiveness, using the tickets to advertise delivers the message in the hands of the target audience.
Interestingly, the driver does not only view the ticket the vehicle is parked. Instead, some may carry the ticket home hence exposing it to more people. The result is an ad campaign that generates high impression rates and high conversion rates. Other creative tactics are advertising on pizza boxes, door hangers, hotel key cards.
